Another Spot to Enjoy Laksa Udang Galah in Miri

Udang Galah again?! Yes, that’s right. We found another place in Miri that serves Laksa Udang Galah, right here in Taman Tunku Miri. It’s the Tunku Corner Cafe! BUT, Laksa Udang Galah is not the only thing they have to offer. After scanning through the menus, they have A LOT more to offer. So, we had the chance to try some of the rare dishes we found! Let’s jump right into it.

Firstly, we have the Laksa Udang Galah! Everyone’s Laksa Sarawak preference is different, I believe. If you were to ask me, where my go-to places are for Laksa Sarawak, I’d have numerous options for you and tell you each of their specialties.

BUT, if you fancy your Laksa sweet and spicy at the same time? Then, Dapur Indaiboyz’s Laksa is definitely for you. Their broth wasn’t too creamy and heavy. To clarify, it serves just the right amount to deliver the authentic taste of Laksa Sarawak and every ingredient in it.

Laksa Udang Galah Toppings

Different from the usual Laksa toppings, the Laksa Udang Galah here is filled with crab meat, shredded omelet, sliced fried tofu, bean sprouts, and fish cake. So, if you’re feeling a little EXTRA today and want a little more in your usual Laksa fix, head on down to Tunku Corner for that full-on experience.

Pssst, I know some of you hate bean sprouts, don’t worry, just let them know, they’ll fix it for you!

Other than the Udang Galah Laksa, an honorable mention dish from their menu would be the KETAM Laksa Sarawak!

We tried to order it, unfortunately, it is only available on weekends. What a bummer! Nonetheless, if you guys have the chance to try it, do share your thoughts!

Laksa Babi

It’s kind of a PIG deal cause here’s another eccentric ingredient for a laksa, and it’s pork! Besides the accustomed shredded omelets, bean sprouts, there were Cha Siew, pig intestines, and meatballs. As my love for pork is like a fat kid’s love for cake, I’d say that this dish is my personal favorite. It’s certainly equally as scrumptious as the Udang Galah Laksa and a must-try too!

Mee Tiga Rasa

I <3 you Mee Tiga Rasa! They also have the famous three flavored mee. Apart from the usual garnishing like Cha Siew and minced pork, they added Wonton and pork meatballs. Moreover, the PORTION was crazy! So, it’s a dish best shared with your loved ones. The noodle was seasoned flawlessly making each strand of noodles taste consistently flavored. Also perfect for the kiddos to share if they each have different preferences on their mee serving.

Feeling Egg-cellent? Calling out all egg lovers out there! If you’re on a meat diet, you can try this dish because it’s mainly filled with eggs! Isn’t it obvious? While trying the Mee Telur 3 Rasa, I noticed that minced pork is one of the ingredients though, so if you’re strictly on a no-meat diet, do let them know to remove the minced pork! The noodle is topped with sliced chicken egg, duck egg, and century egg. So, if you’re feeling eggcellent, try it out!

Mee Kolok Kaki Ayam

And the plot chickens! I’ve had Kaki Ayam before. However, never with noodles! So this was something new and worth a try! A different experience than your usual Mee Kolok. On top of that, the burst of flavor as you take your first bite of the chicken’s feet is just heavenly. I’m used to Dim Sum Chicken Feet that are sweet. This was a breath of fresh air – seasoned to be flavorful.

Tomato Fish Noodle Soup

I love you from my head tomato! Lastly, we had the Tomato Fish Noodle Soup. A dish best served on a cold, rainy day. Above all, a soup that will make you feel instant warmth. Never a wrong time or day for soup. In addition, I would say the soup’s flavor is honestly balanced with a hint of tomato-ey flavor, just nice to go with the other ingredients in the dish. In short, total yum in my tums!

Conclusion

Well, that wraps up the dishes that we tried on our food hunt this time. Besides the food we had, Tunku Corner offers A LOT more. They even have Terung Asam Pork Soup, Umai Ikan, fried rice, Wan Tan Ho, and many more. On a side note, their BBQ food stall is open in the evening until closing time. If you love chilling at night, enjoying some freshly barbequed pork, go check them out from 6 pm till closing time.
