Harimau Brown Sugar at Regiustea

Regiustea, a chinese brand from Hong Kong who pioneered the Cheese Tea beverage alongside 2 others and started this trend of unconventional marriage between two dessert ingredients in the form of beverage has quite an impact on South East Asia’s market for acquired tastes and interesting concepts.

In conjunction with Malaysia Day which is held on the 16th of September, they have decided to introduce two new products to celebrate by implementing the iconic animal of Malaysia, the Tiger (AKA. Harimau) with the test release of two new products, the Tiger Fresh Milk as well as the Tiger Pearl Milk Tea. We were pretty excited to be invited to have a taste of their new products as well as my favourite Uji Matcha hehehe.

The Drinks:

Harimau Pearl Milk Tea

First up is the Harimau pearl milk tea! Makes you wonder what is so special about this drink and in what way it resembles the Harimau doesn’t it? Well it resembles the tiger in the terms of the colours and the black “stripes” the brown sugar syrup gives off, the tea itself represents the white soft fur of the tiger, clever isn’t it? Other than the looks they’ve also put in work in their tapioca pearls, They’ve actually simmered each pearls in Okinawa brown sugar syrup to individually give taste to the pearls (talk about going beyond!) so the experience of chewing those pearls becomes that much more exciting by tickling your taste buds in every sip. Be warned that if you’re not a fan of really sweet stuff, this might not be a good order for you. Best to consume within 20 minutes as the melted ice would water down the taste.

Harimau Fresh Milk

Introducing the Harimau Fresh Milk, the less sweeter sibling of the Tiger Pearl Milk Tea. Made SPECIFICALLY to cater to those who do not possess an extreme sweet tooth. Just like its sibling, the main ingredients are the Okinawa Brown sugar and the signature cheese. The difference between the two is that tiger fresh milk goes down much more smoother down your throat, helps you unclog after drinking your friend’s pearl milk tea as well :p. As the drink is not as dense nor mixed in like pearl milk tea, its easier on the stomach as well as much more refreshing which helps your mind be sharp for the day. Best to consume within 20 minutes for maximum taste and ice – coolness.

Signature Pearl Milk Tea

What is there that needs to be said about pearl milk tea that has not already been said on here? A classic, the granddaddy of all milk tea with its original sweet and refreshing taste BUT with cheese top it all off so you boomerang you and your friends drinking and getting some cheese-stache on.

Uji Matcha Cheese

Easily one of the favourites and definitely the most popular option here especially with the ladies ( and also personally mine!) It has the oh so familiar thick taste of a matcha. In case you’re wondering, Uji Matcha is one of the top grade matcha often used in Japanese tea ceremonies so rest assured you are drinking some serious matcha here. The matcha pairs extremely well with the sweet cheese. Personally I’d stir the cheese into the drink rather than getting the cheese-stache. Perfect for matcha lovers, it is sweet but the matcha does a good job at controlling the sweetness.

Jasmine Green Tea Cheese

Fan of green tea but not a fan of the thick and heavy taste of matcha? Then opt for the Jasmine green tea cheese instead! It is lighter in taste and so much more refreshing to drink especially on a hot afternoon. Recommended especially if you’d like to have a drink that does not assault your taste buds too much.

White Peach Oolong Durian

Can’t get enough of durians? How bout getting them in a beverage cup? Regiustea have got you covered with this combo! This beverage is certainly an interesting one as the oolong tea’s flowery-ish taste combined with the white peach made me feel as though I was in a garden smelling the flowers when suddenly a durian flavoured rain comes falling down on me as it is the most dominant flavour of the three but nevertheless it was truly a treat to drink!

Chocolate Cheese

Ever had a chocolate cheesecake? Well that’s exactly what this is but you get to enjoy it at a colder temperature and softer too. Its chocolate is really rich in taste and its topped with oreo bits on top to give it and exciting crunch and giving your cheese-stache some interesting look. Pretty good for those who are looking for chocolate in their beverage.

Summary

Regiustea always recommends that you enjoy their cheese drinks at a 45 degree angle to get that cheese-stache as it makes for a pretty memorable funny moment for you and your friends to capture so do give that a try. Overall Regiustea makes some pretty exciting drinks which caters to those with a strong sweet tooth and fellow turophiles (or cheese lovers) Most of the ingredients are imported so the price is justified as they use pretty high quality products to serve you.
