5. Senda Shabu Shabu

I’m sure that many of you have heard of shabu shabu restaurants before. Shabu Shabu is a Japanese nabemono hotpot dish. It mainly consists of thinly sliced meats and vegetables. The ingredients are cooked piece by piece at the dinner table. When you dine in at Senda Shabu Shabu, each and everyone at the table will be served their own personal pot so that you can enjoy your Shabu Shabu just the way you like it.

Shabu Shabu is often served with red meat such as beef but you can also pick other meats off the menu.

Fresh meat that will work up your appetite.

The meat served at Senda Shabu Shabu is fresh and has great quality. Beautiful red meat with marbling of fat in between the tissues of the meat. The sight of plates of thinly sliced meat will surely work up your appetite and get you excited for the meal. Aside from meats, fresh vegetables are also served in Shabu Shabu. The common vegetables that you will find are Chinese cabbage, Shiitake and Enokitake Mushrooms.

So, how do you actually eat Shabu Shabu the right way? No, you don’t put everything into the broth in one go. This will only cause the thinly sliced meats to overcook. So , what you should do is submerge the thinly sliced meat or vegetables in the pot of broth that is known is dashi. Stir the meat around and it should be done in a few seconds. That is the purpose of having the meat thinly sliced. After you take the meat out of the broth, dip it into the sauce and pair it with some white rice. Sounds lovely right? Head over to Senda Shabu Shabu to give it a try.
