A Day In Kuching For Less Than RM30? (Muslim Friendly Places)

It is easy to spend RM30 on a meal in Kuching. Sometimes, it can only get you just one dish! But how can it be enough for a whole day in Kuching? Right down to supper? Will it be enough? You bet it is!

1. Breakfast @Khan Sahabat Kafe

Operating for more than a decade now, this Pakistani restaurant serves delicious dishes such as nasi briyani and roti canai.

With friendly and prompt service, I wouldn’t mind having breakfast here every day!

For breakfast today, however, I chose to have roti telur. Not only does the roti canai tastes good, the kuah kari that goes with it is amazing too! It is a must try!

2. Brunch @Warung Hasmida

Next, we are off to a hidden gem! This is the highlight of the day as everything on the menu is RM2! Yes, you read that right, everything on the menu shown is RM2!

It is a family owned and operated business; the staffs are friendly, and they make you feel at home! From chicken rice to laksa, you can find various type of dishes here.

Moving on to lunch, we chose to have nasi berlauk here in Selera Maaidah Cafe! This is certainly a hotspot during lunch hours as it offers reasonable price and many delicious dishes to choose from!

After that much food, you surely must be stuffed! But we all know there is always room for ice cream! Established in 2006, R.G. Ais Krim Gula Apong was the 1st to sell this dessert in Malaysia!

In the afternoon, the shop is operated by Richard, who opened it nearly 2 decades ago. At night, however, it is his son, Gerald, who takes over the job. Hence R.G. (Richard and Gerald) in the shop’s name!

Back to business! So, what’s for dinner you might ask? We’re off to RJ Ayam Bakar Kopitiam! Paired with its mild sambal, the taste is wonderful! A tender chicken is what you want!

Both the Raja Ayam Penyet and Raja Ayam Bakar were highly recommended, but we decided to go with the Ayam Bakar this time! Enjoy the vintage decorations around you too as it gives an old-school ambiance.

6. Supper @Mee Kolok Mangkuk Merah

Don’t count supper out! Mee Kolok Mangkuk Merah is famous for its sweet beef mee kolok! As it starts quite late, not many people know about this place at stall No.53 in Medan Niaga Satok (Benteng).

The sauce that comes with it is what completes this mee kolok! I cannot recommend this enough for those who are looking for a late-night dish to enjoy with friends!

As you can see, RM30 is enough to keep you fed for a whole day in Kuching– if you know where to have your meals that is, and now you do!
