One of the Best Kolo Mee in Kuching

Kolo mee, one of the most memorable and fondest dish for those who grew up on Sarawak (the non-halal way) as well as one of the most famous dish when Sarawak foods are mentioned. We were told to give the best kolo mee a try in Kuching and so we did, we paid Oriental Park a visit.

Nothing beats an original and we can say that confidently in this case. The kolo mee is seasoned nicely thanks to years of experience the uncle has and the combination with the pork lard which just gives off its natural porky sweetness and adds a smooth consistency to the springy noodle, the char siew and minced pork too joins in to lend its porkyness to add depth to the overall pork flavour and the fried onion adds an exciting crunch to each and every bite. The red kolo mee is like the original BUT with the addition of red sauce making it slightly sweeter. And if you’re someone who breathes and lives spicy, then don’t go easy with the chilli pot, guaranteed to hurt you so bad but you’ll go back for more.

A few things to take know if you are travelling to visit this place. We recommend taking a Grab Car as there is limited car park spaces around. The roads around the shop is quite small and can be hard to spot if you are not a local there. If you are using grab car, it will be easier for you to find and set the location. Besides that, it is recommended to come early as it tends to sell out fast.
