NEW Food Hotspot serves Lok Lok and burgers in Miri!

Hey Mirians! In case you didn’t know, there’s a new place in Marina Miri to hunt for affordable and delicious food. This recently opened business called Top Fans Live Station, serves up a variety of Lok Lok for only RM 1.50 per stick. Super affordable am I right?

If you never try Lok Lok before, it is basically bite-size street food served on skewers and is commonly served out of converted food trucks. This shop right here in Miri has definitely implemented that concept for patrons to enjoy the real Lok Lok experience.

Lok Lok (Skewered Food) @Top Fans Live Station

Top Fans Live Station is one of the few places in Miri that serves lok lok with over 30 skewer variations to choose from and the best part is that it opens from 1 pm till 11 pm. Great if you’re planning your next supper spot!

Their lok lok ranges from meats to greens, mushrooms and even mantou! For instance, you will see trays of homemade chicken ball, lady fingers, mini siumai, fried chicken wings, fried 3 layer pork and the list just goes on…. Patrons will be spoilt for choices, that’s for sure! I highly recommend trying out their deep-fried Custard Bun (also known as Fried Liu Sha Bao). Deeply fried crust on the outside and oozy creamy custard on the inside. Sinfully good!

How to order up your lok lok? Firstly, select your choice of food from the displayed racks on the converted truck. Next, choose your preferred cooking method, either having it boiled or fried. After payment is made, it’s time to patiently wait for the food. Several types of dipping sauces are provided to pair with your skewers – whether you’re looking for something sweet, salty or even spicy.

Sweet Chinese Desserts (Tong Sui)

Apart from the huge selection of skewers, they also serve really tasty and refreshing sweet Chinese desserts (also known as Tong Sui). Tong Sui is not only perfect to have after a long hot day, but it is packed with nutrients and various health benefits with the ingredients used in making these delicious soups. All of their desserts are made fresh in-house daily.

Their Tong Sui menu includes Bubur Cha Cha, Barley with Gingko, Red Bean Soup and also QQ Yuan just to name a few. My personal favourite has got to be their Mango Sago because of the fresh cuts of sweet and tangy tasting mangoes, sago and also little mango pops that simply bursts in your mouth which took me by surprise.

If you’re hoping to feed a crowd, order up their QQ Round Hotpot which can feed up to 6 – 7 people. It contains purple and orange QQ which are made from sweet potato, grass jelly, golden pearls, red bean and coconut jelly. As a finishing touch, milk will be poured over on top.

Can you guess who else is operating at Top Fans Live Station? One of the best pork burger vendors in Miri, The Cage Grill has opened up their second branch right here as well!

We tried out a couple of their new menu items which are Hello Elvis and Hawaiian Boy.

Hello Elvis

Their Hello Elvis won over my heart that night after my very first bite into it. It wasn’t just an ordinary pork burger. It was something of a whole new level. Hello Elvis had the regular pretty green lettuce, tomato, egg, melted cheese and their thick juicy patty, but what really had me going was the added combination of PEANUT BUTTER AND BLUEBERRY JAM into it. Who knew that this crazy but unique combination would work on a pork burger? Mind blowing-ly brilliant, if you ask me.

The food vendor was inspired by the burger history in the U.S. and found out that Elvis Presley’s favourite burger had the combination of Peanut Butter and Blueberry Jam. Therefore, he created one of his own and named the burger after Elvis. Don’t be fooled by the outer looks of it. Give this burger a try, and you won’t regret it.

Hawaiian Boy

Next on the list, another burger we tried out was their Hawaiian Boy. It had those soft fluffy buns that has been slightly toasted, crunchy green lettuce, fresh tomato, a layer of melted cheese on the pork patty, 2 pieces of ham and sweet tasting pineapples.

It was a scrumptious burger whereby the sweetness from the pineapple really balances out the flavours of this comfort food. I can’t get over of how those buns were so beautifully made, the crust is just so smooth! Smoother than the roads from Miri to Sibu. *Inside jokes*

Monster Burger

In addition, if you’re feeling very extra for the night, treat yourself with their Monster Burger which is an off menu item that can be prepared upon special request. This baby right here is a mini pork burger tower that has 3 patties piling ontop of each other, and a slather of your choice of sauce (either BBQ or Honey Mustard). Things can’t go wrong here when their patty is already that good.
