[Miri] We Spent RM30 on Food for the Entire Day. Here’s Where We Went!

Now, we wrote one entry just like this for Kuchingites, now it’s time for our Mirians! Serious ah can spend only RM30 for a day in Miri. Bah, what are we waiting for, let’s find out! 

1. Breakfast at Khan’s Islamic Restaurant

This place has got to be one if not the oldest, one of the legendary spots for Mirian. They serve a wide range of Pakistani and Indian cuisine here. 

If you are like me, you can’t really have a heavy breakfast, a piece of Roti Canai and Roti Telur is enough for you to go about your day! (On other days, I would be downing a large bowl of Mee Kolok)

2. Brunch at Kaklu’s Kolok and Satay Caterer, Lutong

For brunch, we have a place somewhere a little out of the city center, Kaklu’s Kolok and Satay in Lutong, Miri! This is one of my favorite place to enjoy delicious Muslim-Friendly Mee Kolok. 

As you can see from the picture, they have all sorts of dishes like Laksa, Mee Sapi, Wantan, Mee Kolok and many more. All that ranges from as low as RM4 up to RM10. For this post, we ordered their Mee Kolok Biasa.

3. Lunch with Nasi Katok Rizqi

We are leaving no space for breaks! Let’s move along to lunch. Since we had mee for lunch, it’s time to enjoy some Nasi! This stall is famous for their cheap and yummy Nasi Katok. 

Here, you can choose your preferred sambal. I highly recommend you to choose the Cabik Ijo!

4. Tea Time with Yana Fritters, Kampung Wireless Walk, Miri

If you’re a Mirian, there is no way you don’t know about this roadside stall! Also, they have been selling cucur for more than 20 years. For tea time, let’s enjoy some cucur! 

Their cucur is the tastiest on my cucu list in Miri. I definitely love their Cucur Kacang Merah.

5. Dinner at D’ Klate Restoran

Last but not least, dinner time! This is one of my very own personal favorite places to have dinner. I especially love their Char Kuey Teow and Nasi Kerabu here. This time, I got their Char Kuey Teow Ayam! If you want to save more, they have a set called Set Bajet which only cost you about RM4. RM4 is inclusive of drinks ya. Crazy worth it!

And that’s the end of our under RM30 food hunt in Miri, Sarawak. We ended up only spending RM23 in total! Who said Miri is an expensive town to live in? Honestly, it really depends. As long as you know where to find good food with an affordable price like this, you’re good to go! All the places we listed above are highly recommended.
