Experience Teatime at Blowater Miri

Looking for a place to eat during teatime? Well look no further! Tucked away in the quieter parts of Marina Phase 2 hides a hidden gem, a really cool and simple café with an interesting concept known as Blowater.

Judging from the outside and name alone, one may even pass up on the opportunity to step inside but you’re missing out if you’re one of those people! Step inside the café and you would find that it has a sort of cute yet simple and elegant charm to its interior and décor (psst, it’s a nice place to bring your lady or ladies!) providing a sort of homely and calm feel for your dining experience there.

The Food:

1) Lava Series

One of their signature item is the lava series dessert. It has a unique yet simple presentation to it, the lava cake is serve on top of a graham biscuit above some goodylicious mini treats in a glass. The cake we had was baked just right with just the right sweetness to it, it was soft and fluffy and it was very light and easy meaning that you can still have it after a huge meal and it wouldn’t make you feel sluggish at all. Their lava series also comes in different varieties like, white chocolate, matcha, durian and coffee.

2) Cakes

If you prefer your desserts as a simple treat however, fret not as they have an assortment of cakes that are pretty decent such as the chocolate cake and the cheesecake.

3) Meat Series

One of the treat we got to try off their meat series finger food was the sausage ramen, which comes in 3 flavours (Original, Cheesy, and Spicy). The sausages as you can tell are coated with ramen noodles and deep fried thus giving you that extra layer of crispiness to its texture making you force out all the delicious *krup krup* sounds as you bite into them, as for the taste the ramen seasonings are used. We were rather surprised at how filling it was as we actually had it on an empty stomach so if you’re unsure of what to get next time you’re here, try the sausage ramen! Or other meat series such as chicken popcorns, squids, and chicken chop at a higher price range.

4) Potato Series Finger Food and Mushroom Series

Majority of the food menu that they serve up in Blowater comes in fried form. They also serve varieties of fried mushrooms such as the enoki, beech and white crab mushrooms and they also have the potato series which includes French fries and potato wedges (which you can get with cheese for extra RM1) and also the potato cheeseball! We can’t help but try the cheeseball as you know by now that cheese is something that we love and can’t get enough of!

Moving onto the beverage side of the menu we have the Milk Series, Soda Series, Tea Series, Ice Blended, Sodas and a mixture of Coffee and Soda ( perhaps the first of its kind here in Miri? Definitely something for coffee enthusiast to try)

5) Tea Series

On the tea series alone, they serve up to 26 different types of tea all with their own unique fragrance and aroma to calm you down ( a sort of therapeutic treatment via aroma) You can order it either in just a cup or upgrade to teapot for two.

6) Milk Series

Their Milk series also had varieties to them with flavours like rose, black lychee, peppermint, osmanthus, yam, chocolate, matcha and as quoted in the menu “Nai Cha”. Yeap, that’s how it is written in the menu and so we went for that. In case you didn’t know it is pearl milk tea but made in their own way which is far lighter and smoother on the throat with well balanced amount of sugar.

7) Assorted Soda Drinks

Their soda drinks might just be one of their signature as they carbonate them right upon order making it really “fresh” which retains the fizziness at its utmost level giving you a refreshing, bubbly experience. Comes in many flavours such as honey peach, lychee, mango, passionfruit, coconut jelly and popping boba.

As an extra bonus we got to try their coffee and soda combinations that are still in testing phase and is currently unavailable on the menu at thy time. Quite simply it is carbonated water with espresso shot poured into it and you stir it to mix them to get that volcanic effect.

Upon the first sip, you’d get the taste of the soda then followed by the earthy strong taste of the espresso slightly giving you a jolt due to how refreshing it tastes even with coffee.
