Hola Borneo Foodies! New year, more unique places to explore in Borneo. This time around, I’m going to list places you can check out in a country not far from us, and on the north coast of the Borneo island in Southeast Asia, Brunei Darussalam! There’s honestly so many food in Brunei that needs to be explored!

Before I start with my listing, I’m pretty sure some of you are curious about the entry procedure. I heard the procedure to enter Brunei now is easy. You’ll just have to fill in the Entry and Exit System (EES) and fill in your vehicle details and passport details. Then, print or download EES Pass for you to scan at the Control Post. The fee now is no longer charged per head but per vehicle. Alrighty, let’s move on to our list! (with no particular order)

1. Legendary food in Brunei – Chop Jing Chew since 1946

Next, we have a humble roadside stall that serves a range of fried noodles, rice, and more! It’s Warung XO. If you’re feeling like hanging out till late, this place is open until midnight. The Fried Kway Teow is what people recommended from this place. I have yet to try it myself, but they definitely look good. I’m going to make sure I do, if I make a trip to Brunei!

If you go to Brunei, you cannot miss trying this food in Brunei, Nasi Katok. Nasi Katok is known as one of the significant dishes of this country. It’s Brunei’s delicacy that you can enjoy at a very cheap price! I first tried Nasi Katok from Gadong Street Food, I can’t recall which stall I got it from, and it was delicious! Despite the simplicity of the dish, I love it. One of the many places in Brunei that serves this dish, Keboys Restaurant is one of the recommended places by the locals.

This dish is literally this simple, yet it’s still so good! What sorcery is this? We gotta give it to Nasi Katok and just love it.
